Al-Waaqia

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1When the Occurrence occurs,إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ۝١
2. 2There is, at its occurrence, no denial.لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ۝٢
3. 3It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ۝٣
4. 4When the earth is shaken with convulsionإِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّا۝٤
5. 5And the mountains are broken down, crumblingوَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّا۝٥
6. 6And become dust dispersing.فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا۝٦
7. 7And you become [of] three kinds:وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ثَلَٰثَةً۝٧
8. 8Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ۝٨
9. 9And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ۝٩
10. 10And the forerunners, the forerunners -وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ۝١٠
11. 11Those are the ones brought near [to Allah]أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ۝١١
12. 12In the Gardens of Pleasure,فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ۝١٢
13. 13A [large] company of the former peoplesثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٣
14. 14And a few of the later peoples,وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝١٤
15. 15On thrones woven [with ornament],عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ۝١٥
16. 16Reclining on them, facing each other.مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ۝١٦
17. 17There will circulate among them young boys made eternalيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ۝١٧
18. 18With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ۝١٨
19. 19No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ۝١٩
20. 20And fruit of what they selectوَفَٰكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ۝٢٠
21. 21And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ۝٢١
22. 22And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,وَحُورٌ عِينٌ۝٢٢
23. 23The likenesses of pearls well-protected,كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ۝٢٣
24. 24As reward for what they used to do.جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ۝٢٤
25. 25They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا۝٢٥
26. 26Only a saying: "Peace, peace."إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَٰمًا سَلَٰمًا۝٢٦
27. 27The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ۝٢٧
28. 28[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removedفِى سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ۝٢٨
29. 29And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ۝٢٩
30. 30And shade extendedوَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ۝٣٠
31. 31And water poured outوَمَآءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ۝٣١
32. 32And fruit, abundant [and varied],وَفَٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ۝٣٢
33. 33Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ۝٣٣
34. 34And [upon] beds raised high.وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ۝٣٤
35. 35Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creationإِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءً۝٣٥
36. 36And made them virgins,فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا۝٣٦
37. 37Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا۝٣٧
38. 38For the companions of the right [who are]لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ۝٣٨
39. 39A company of the former peoplesثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝٣٩
40. 40And a company of the later peoples.وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝٤٠
41. 41And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ۝٤١
42. 42[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding waterفِى سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ۝٤٢
43. 43And a shade of black smoke,وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ۝٤٣
44. 44Neither cool nor beneficial.لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ۝٤٤
45. 45Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ۝٤٥
46. 46And they used to persist in the great violation,وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ۝٤٦
47. 47And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ۝٤٧
48. 48And our forefathers [as well]?"أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ۝٤٨
49. 49Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoplesقُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝٤٩
50. 50Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ۝٥٠
51. 51Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ۝٥١
52. 52Will be eating from trees of zaqqumلَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ۝٥٢
53. 53And filling with it your belliesفَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ۝٥٣
54. 54And drinking on top of it from scalding waterفَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ۝٥٤
55. 55And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ۝٥٥
56. 56That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ۝٥٦
57. 57We have created you, so why do you not believe?نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ۝٥٧
58. 58Have you seen that which you emit?أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ۝٥٨
59. 59Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ۝٥٩
60. 60We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdoneنَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ۝٦٠
61. 61In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ۝٦١
62. 62And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ۝٦٢
63. 63And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ۝٦٣
64. 64Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ۝٦٤
65. 65If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ۝٦٥
66. 66[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ۝٦٦
67. 67Rather, we have been deprived."بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ۝٦٧
68. 68And have you seen the water that you drink?أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ۝٦٨
69. 69Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ۝٦٩
70. 70If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ۝٧٠
71. 71And have you seen the fire that you ignite?أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ۝٧١
72. 72Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ۝٧٢
73. 73We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَٰعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ۝٧٣
74. 74So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ۝٧٤
75. 75Then I swear by the setting of the stars,فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ۝٧٥
76. 76And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ۝٧٦
77. 77Indeed, it is a noble Qur'anإِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌ كَرِيمٌ۝٧٧
78. 78In a Register well-protected;فِى كِتَٰبٍ مَّكْنُونٍ۝٧٨
79. 79None touch it except the purified.لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ۝٧٩
80. 80[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٨٠
81. 81Then is it to this statement that you are indifferentأَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ۝٨١
82. 82And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ۝٨٢
83. 83Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throatفَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ۝٨٣
84. 84And you are at that time looking on -وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ۝٨٤
85. 85And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ۝٨٥
86. 86Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ۝٨٦
87. 87Bring it back, if you should be truthful?تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ۝٨٧
88. 88And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah,فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ۝٨٨
89. 89Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ۝٨٩
90. 90And if he was of the companions of the right,وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ۝٩٠
91. 91Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."فَسَلَٰمٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ۝٩١
92. 92But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ۝٩٢
93. 93Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding waterفَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ۝٩٣
94. 94And burning in Hellfireوَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ۝٩٤
95. 95Indeed, this is the true certainty,إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ۝٩٥
96. 96So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ۝٩٦

Translation: Saheeh International. Choose another in Reading settings (Aa).
