Ash-Shu'araa

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1Ta, Seen, Meem.طسٓمٓ۝١
2. 2These are the verses of the clear Book.تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ۝٢
3. 3Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ۝٣
4. 4If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ۝٤
5. 5And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ۝٥
6. 6For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ۝٦
7. 7Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ۝٧
8. 8Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝٨
9. 9And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝٩
10. 10And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ۝١٠
11. 11The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?"قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ۝١١
12. 12He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny meقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ۝١٢
13. 13And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ۝١٣
14. 14And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ۝١٤
15. 15[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.قَالَ كَلَّا فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ۝١٥
16. 16Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٦
17. 17[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ۝١٧
18. 18[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ۝١٨
19. 19And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful."وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ۝١٩
20. 20[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray.قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ۝٢٠
21. 21So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝٢١
22. 22And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ۝٢٢
23. 23Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٢٣
24. 24[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ۝٢٤
25. 25[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ۝٢٥
26. 26[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝٢٦
27. 27[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ۝٢٧
28. 28[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ۝٢٨
29. 29[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ۝٢٩
30. 30[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?"قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ۝٣٠
31. 31[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ۝٣١
32. 32So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ۝٣٢
33. 33And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ۝٣٣
34. 34[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ۝٣٤
35. 35He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ۝٣٥
36. 36They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherersقَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ۝٣٦
37. 37Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ۝٣٧
38. 38So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ۝٣٨
39. 39And it was said to the people, "Will you congregateوَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ۝٣٩
40. 40That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ۝٤٠
41. 41And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ۝٤١
42. 42He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ۝٤٢
43. 43Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ۝٤٣
44. 44So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ۝٤٤
45. 45Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ۝٤٥
46. 46So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ۝٤٦
47. 47They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٤٧
48. 48The Lord of Moses and Aaron."رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ۝٤٨
49. 49[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ۝٤٩
50. 50They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ۝٥٠
51. 51Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝٥١
52. 52And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ۝٥٢
53. 53Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherersفَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ۝٥٣
54. 54[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ۝٥٤
55. 55And indeed, they are enraging us,وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ۝٥٥
56. 56And indeed, we are a cautious society... "وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ۝٥٦
57. 57So We removed them from gardens and springsفَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ۝٥٧
58. 58And treasures and honorable station -وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ۝٥٨
59. 59Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ۝٥٩
60. 60So they pursued them at sunrise.فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ۝٦٠
61. 61And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ۝٦١
62. 62[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."قَالَ كَلَّآ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ۝٦٢
63. 63Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ۝٦٣
64. 64And We advanced thereto the pursuers.وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ۝٦٤
65. 65And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ۝٦٥
66. 66Then We drowned the others.ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ۝٦٦
67. 67Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝٦٧
68. 68And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝٦٨
69. 69And recite to them the news of Abraham,وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ۝٦٩
70. 70When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ۝٧٠
71. 71They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ۝٧١
72. 72He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ۝٧٢
73. 73Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ۝٧٣
74. 74They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ۝٧٤
75. 75He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ۝٧٥
76. 76You and your ancient forefathers?أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ۝٧٦
77. 77Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٧٧
78. 78Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ۝٧٨
79. 79And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ۝٧٩
80. 80And when I am ill, it is He who cures meوَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ۝٨٠
81. 81And who will cause me to die and then bring me to lifeوَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ۝٨١
82. 82And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ۝٨٢
83. 83[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ۝٨٣
84. 84And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝٨٤
85. 85And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ۝٨٥
86. 86And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ۝٨٦
87. 87And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ۝٨٧
88. 88The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or childrenيَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ۝٨٨
89. 89But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart."إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ۝٨٩
90. 90And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ۝٩٠
91. 91And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ۝٩١
92. 92And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worshipوَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ۝٩٢
93. 93Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?"مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ۝٩٣
94. 94So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviatorsفَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ۝٩٤
95. 95And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ۝٩٥
96. 96They will say while they dispute therein,قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ۝٩٦
97. 97"By Allah, we were indeed in manifest errorتَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ۝٩٧
98. 98When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٩٨
99. 99And no one misguided us except the criminals.وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ۝٩٩
100. 100So now we have no intercessorsفَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ۝١٠٠
101. 101And not a devoted friend.وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ۝١٠١
102. 102Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... "فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝١٠٢
103. 103Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝١٠٣
104. 104And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝١٠٤
105. 105The people of Noah denied the messengersكَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٠٥
106. 106When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ۝١٠٦
107. 107Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ۝١٠٧
108. 108So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٠٨
109. 109And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٠٩
110. 110So fear Allah and obey me."فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١١٠
111. 111They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?"قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ۝١١١
112. 112He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ۝١١٢
113. 113Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ۝١١٣
114. 114And I am not one to drive away the believers.وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝١١٤
115. 115I am only a clear warner."إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ۝١١٥
116. 116They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ۝١١٦
117. 117He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ۝١١٧
118. 118Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers."فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝١١٨
119. 119So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ۝١١٩
120. 120Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ۝١٢٠
121. 121Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝١٢١
122. 122And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝١٢٢
123. 123'Aad denied the messengersكَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٢٣
124. 124When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ۝١٢٤
125. 125Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ۝١٢٥
126. 126So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٢٦
127. 127And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٢٧
128. 128Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ۝١٢٨
129. 129And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ۝١٢٩
130. 130And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ۝١٣٠
131. 131So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٣١
132. 132And fear He who provided you with that which you know,وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ۝١٣٢
133. 133Provided you with grazing livestock and childrenأَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ۝١٣٣
134. 134And gardens and springs.وَجَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ۝١٣٤
135. 135Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ۝١٣٥
136. 136They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ۝١٣٦
137. 137This is not but the custom of the former peoples,إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٣٧
138. 138And we are not to be punished."وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ۝١٣٨
139. 139And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝١٣٩
140. 140And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝١٤٠
141. 141Thamud denied the messengersكَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٤١
142. 142When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ۝١٤٢
143. 143Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ۝١٤٣
144. 144So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٤٤
145. 145And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٤٥
146. 146Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ۝١٤٦
147. 147Within gardens and springsفِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ۝١٤٧
148. 148And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ۝١٤٨
149. 149And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَٰرِهِينَ۝١٤٩
150. 150So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٥٠
151. 151And do not obey the order of the transgressors,وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ۝١٥١
152. 152Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ۝١٥٢
153. 153They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ۝١٥٣
154. 154You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ۝١٥٤
155. 155He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ۝١٥٥
156. 156And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ۝١٥٦
157. 157But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ۝١٥٧
158. 158And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝١٥٨
159. 159And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝١٥٩
160. 160The people of Lot denied the messengersكَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٦٠
161. 161When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ۝١٦١
162. 162Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ۝١٦٢
163. 163So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٦٣
164. 164And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٦٤
165. 165Do you approach males among the worldsأَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٦٥
166. 166And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ۝١٦٦
167. 167They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted."قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ۝١٦٧
168. 168He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ۝١٦٨
169. 169My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do."رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ۝١٦٩
170. 170So We saved him and his family, all,فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ۝١٧٠
171. 171Except an old woman among those who remained behind.إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ۝١٧١
172. 172Then We destroyed the others.ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ۝١٧٢
173. 173And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ۝١٧٣
174. 174Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝١٧٤
175. 175And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝١٧٥
176. 176The companions of the thicket denied the messengersكَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٧٦
177. 177When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ۝١٧٧
178. 178Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ۝١٧٨
179. 179So fear Allah and obey me.فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ۝١٧٩
180. 180And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٨٠
181. 181Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ۝١٨١
182. 182And weigh with an even balance.وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ۝١٨٢
183. 183And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ۝١٨٣
184. 184And fear He who created you and the former creation."وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٨٤
185. 185They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ۝١٨٥
186. 186You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ۝١٨٦
187. 187So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful."فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ۝١٨٧
188. 188He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ۝١٨٨
189. 189And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ۝١٨٩
190. 190Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ۝١٩٠
191. 191And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ۝١٩١
192. 192And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٩٢
193. 193The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it downنَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ۝١٩٣
194. 194Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners -عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ۝١٩٤
195. 195In a clear Arabic language.بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ۝١٩٥
196. 196And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٩٦
197. 197And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ۝١٩٧
198. 198And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreignersوَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ۝١٩٨
199. 199And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ۝١٩٩
200. 200Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals.كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ۝٢٠٠
201. 201They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ۝٢٠١
202. 202And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ۝٢٠٢
203. 203And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ۝٢٠٣
204. 204So for Our punishment are they impatient?أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ۝٢٠٤
205. 205Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for yearsأَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ۝٢٠٥
206. 206And then there came to them that which they were promised?ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ۝٢٠٦
207. 207They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ۝٢٠٧
208. 208And We did not destroy any city except that it had warnersوَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ۝٢٠٨
209. 209As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ۝٢٠٩
210. 210And the devils have not brought the revelation down.وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ۝٢١٠
211. 211It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ۝٢١١
212. 212Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ۝٢١٢
213. 213So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished.فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ۝٢١٣
214. 214And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ۝٢١٤
215. 215And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝٢١٥
216. 216And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ۝٢١٦
217. 217And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ۝٢١٧
218. 218Who sees you when you ariseٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ۝٢١٨
219. 219And your movement among those who prostrate.وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ۝٢١٩
220. 220Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ۝٢٢٠
221. 221Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ۝٢٢١
222. 222They descend upon every sinful liar.تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ۝٢٢٢
223. 223They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars.يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَ۝٢٢٣
224. 224And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ۝٢٢٤
225. 225Do you not see that in every valley they roamأَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ۝٢٢٥
226. 226And that they say what they do not do? -وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ۝٢٢٦
227. 227Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ۝٢٢٧

Translation: Saheeh International. Choose another in Reading settings (Aa).
